To add extra lustre to the ornaments and light projects, one can also experience the route via a free Audio Tour. Through these authentic audio or spoken text fragments, you “see” the selected ornaments and light projects in a completely different way. Download the audio tour here! Roadmap edition 2024 De Lichtjesroute

Another “benchmark” during the construction of our Route of Lights is the publication of the route map on our website and other social media. Online, you can then view where ornaments and light projects are located in this year's route and which ornaments are new to the route. Bike night - Saturday, Sept. 21

Traditionally, the first Saturday that all the lights are on is our annual Bike Night. The idea behind this is that you see and enjoy more on a bike and it is also 'nice and green'. At three prominent locations within the route, the effects of our ornaments and light projects are enhanced by live music. Visitors and performing musicians alike enjoy themselves time and again during this evening. The musicians will perform between 19:00-22:00. The lights will be lit on September 18 and extinguished on the 2nd Sunday of October at 10:30 p.m. The lights will be on Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Much of the ornaments only turn on when the lampposts come on.

The quietest days are Monday through Thursday. Weekends are busier, please be aware of traffic jams on the route.

  • By bicycle without children: two hours;
  • By bicycle with children: three hours;
  • By car midweek: an hour and a half;
  • By car on weekends: three hours, traffic jams!
  • On foot: about 6 hours, advice: do it in two stages.

Yes, the route is on public roads, so free for anyone to visit.
