Lichtjesroute = volunteers
From organising to designing, building to dismantling, maintenance to innovation, everything at De Lichtjesroute is done by volunteers. In recent years, a core of about 50 volunteers, from administration to elaboration, from various districts of the city are busy on various evenings and weekends with the many activities needed to make De Lichtjesroute see the annual light. In terms of resources, De Lichtjesroute is supported by grants from the municipality of Eindhoven and Eindhoven365, the municipality makes a former school building available as a workshop and storage space, Philips Netherlands Lighting gave lamps as a gift, and there are encouraging donations in money, goods and services from companies in the city and region.
The companies supporting De Lichtjesroute are listed under the Sponsors section. Sponsorship coordination is in the hands of: Friends of De Lichtjesroute
With the aim of being as self-supporting as possible, the company acquired its own aerial work platform in 2006, which significantly improved efficiency. In order to take transport into our own hands, a crane truck was purchased in 2009 for transporting projects and ornaments.
